Research and Analysis
The Minnesota Budget Project prepares research and analysis to inform the public debate about tax and budget decisions that impact low- and moderate-income Minnesotans. Our research and analysis is organized into four issue areas:
- Minnesota Budget - analysis of legislative and gubernatorial budget proposals, passed budget legislation, the state's fiscal forecasts, budget trends, budget process reforms, and tax and spending limits.
- Minnesota Taxes - analysis of legislative tax proposals, tax policy changes, tax credits, and tax fairness in Minnesota.
- Federal Tax and Budget - analysis of federal tax and budget proposals and outcomes, with an emphasis on how those proposals impact Minnesota.
- Economic Security - analysis of issues related to poverty, incomes, economic opportunity, health care, hunger and nutrition, and climate change.
Current information on tax and budget issues is also available on our blog, Minnesota Budget Bites.
