The Minnesota Budget Project is part of the State Fiscal Analysis Initiative (SFAI), coordinated by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. The State Fiscal Analysis Initiative brings together nonpartisan, independent, nonprofit organizations in each of 30 states and the District of Columbia. These organizations have diverse backgrounds and missions, but they share a commitment to rigorous policy analysis, responsible budget and tax policies, and a particular focus on the needs of low- and moderate-income families.
The Minnesota Budget Project is also a member of the Economic Analysis and Research Network (EARN). EARN is a network of state and regional multi-issue research, policy and advocacy organizations that currently includes 56 organizations in 42 states. EARN is coordinated by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI). EARN’s mission is to improve the lives of Americans through state and local policy, and change the nature of the national policy debate — state by state.
The Minnesota Budget Project is a leading member of Invest in Minnesota, a coalition of nonprofits, faith-based organizations and labor united in support of a balanced approach, including revenues raised fairly, to the state's budget shortfalls.
The Minnesota Budget Project is a steering committee member of Affirmative Options, which works with its over 50 member organizations to advocate for public policy change at the intersection of welfare and work. Its goal is to promote policies that eliminate barriers and provide opportunities for low-income families to achieve economic security.
